Reflections the webinar/activity give rise to (learnings)
The topic discussed in this webinar has given me so much idea, as for the first speaker, Atty. Salvador talked about the Impact of the IT-related industry in the Philippines, I learned that the industry is continuously booming as chart he explained from 2008 to 2020, as many enterprises were turning to digitalization and more businesses are seeking to establish their digital systems. He also tackled the implications of law that help the industry as well as the benefits of work-from-home (WFH) for employees. With that, he explained that increased cyber vulnerabilities, malware by 358% in 2020. I learned that with many of industry were using the internet, cybersecurity must also come at hand to protect our networks against vulnerabilities. Second, Mr. Dela Cruz discussed broad information about cybersecurity, I learned here what approach and best practices we can use to protect the data by prioritizing it. Also implementing CIS Security Controls where it identifies segments from small to medium, medium, and large enterprises for cyber hygiene. Lastly, Mr. Aum briefly discussed cyber vulnerabilities and introduces a cyber security software product made for corporates, called Harmony 360. He explained how this software will protect our corporate and employee data. I learned in this part that there is a product specially for security were intended for corporate or businesses.
Reflections on possibilities on implementing some of the webinar input on a practical level (practical application of learnings)
This webinar is very insightful to me as a computer science student, dealing with computers and the internet on a daily basis. Understanding cyber vulnerabilities are very essential for me, this helps me to broaden my knowledge on how corporates deal with cyber security and the way we could prevent our data from these issues. Also, policies imposed by the government must be followed.
Positive feedback (on the event organization)
For me, this webinar’s topic is focused and discussed from a different perspective of the speakers which I found a good approach for the listeners. The master speaker was also been so energetic throughout the session, this also keeps me from listening and interested in the topic especially in Q and A.
Suggestions for improvements to be made/ consider for future activities
My only suggestion is that I hope to see Globe Business Academy will conduct more of this kind of webinar about cyber security.
