The webinar we organized online was titled “IMPORTANCE OF UI & UX”, the topic is about the essence of designing and being user-friendly. It was held on Sunday, October 3, 2021, at 2 PM (GMT-8). The webinar was organized by our Team “Code Phantoms” together with resource speaker Mr. Dominick Betita. He is currently working as a Technical Support Representative at TopData Global I.T Solutions based in Pampanga Province. He is also a Gordon College Alumni batch 2019 which he graduated with a Bachelor's Degree in Information Technology.

 

 

Reflections the webinar/activity give rise to (learnings) 

 

I learned many things during this webinar the importance of user interface and user experience is a different thing and we need to consider this if we are going to develop applications. The speaker shared a lot of ideas, one thing is about best practices for designing an Interface where if we consider these practices, we can achieve a good interface design.

 

I also learned about User Experience is not just about designing the way the developer wants to but we also need to consider the background our users might be for them to use the application comfortably. The speaker also explained that UX is user-centered stating that it is multi-disciplinary composed of visual design, programming, psychology, and interaction designs. I learned that UX is not just about it, because there is no standard to know what is a good UX but we have to follow practices, factors, and principles to achieve a good experience.

 

Reflections on possibilities on implementing some of the webinar input on a practical level (practical application of learnings) 

 

There are many things that I can apply to but specifically speaking, I can apply them to my future projects considering the user experience and designs. This will improve the usability and how the user feels with, will most likely use an application or website having these attributes.

 

 

 Positive feedback (on the event organization) 

 

The speaker was very interactive throughout the webinar session. He is also having a good approach to the attendees giving an easy way to absorb the discussions. I also commend his being well-prepared and organized in explaining each slide of the presentation. 

 

Suggestions for improvements to be made/ consider for future activities.

The webinar was a success for both our team and the speaker. One thing I would like to suggest on the part of our team, to add up an ice-breaker part of our events to enhance the interactivity.

Other than that, I hope to see Mr. Betita be able to share again with us his new ideas if ever for the future webinar.
